About me.

Hi, I'm Markus. I'm a software developer from Finland.

I have expertise in backend development, frontend development, software architecturing, DevOps, and a lot more. My main interests are architecture, cloud, and DevOps. But you can find me working with accessibility as well.

Currently I'm working as a DevOps Engineer at Veikkaus.

Experience.

Digia

October 2023 - March 2024

I worked as a Software Robotics (RPA) Developer at Digia. My tasks included building completely new robots with Selenium and PyWinAuto and also doing support work for older robots.

Futurice

Summer 2023

I worked at Futurice for the summer of 2023 as a Full Stack Developer. I got to work on a large project that was already several years in the making. My tasks ranged from managing SSL certificates to implementing new frontend features to updating virtual machines with Terraform.

Kuormat.com

October 2021 - May 2023

I got real hands-on experience with all aspects of software development at Kuormat.com start-up. I worked as part of a three-person team so we all had big responsibilities. In addition to writing the application, I worked a lot on developing our own agile ways of working.

University of Helsinki

January 2021 - present

I have worked as a teaching and research assistant on multiple courses at the University of Helsinki. My role has varied a lot on the courses: in addition to working on a database project course and a software engineering course, for a year I ran the daily operations of some of the largest courses of the university, Introduction to Programming and Advanced Programming.

Sahanlahti Resort

August 2016 - September 2020

During my previous career I worked as a Head Chef at this award-winning resort in Puumala. There I got great experience from building and leading a team, doing a lot of creative thinking, and working under pressure.

Personal projects.

ainoastaanfanit.com

ainoastaanfanit.com is an application for all tractor enthusiasts. It started out as a joke but I've since added email lists and such into it. The source code is available in my Github.

unaribot

Do you ever need to quickly check the lunch of some Unicafe restaurant? Well, do I have good news for you. This is a Telegram bot that can tell you exactly that. It was first written in JavaScript but then I rewrote it in Rust. You can check out the source code, again, in my Github.
